If you have been researching stabilized oxygen supplements, you have probably wondered whether they are actually safe to take. It’s a fair question. The products in this category go by many names, vary widely in their manufacturing, and some carry safety warnings right on the label. So, is stabilized oxygen safe? The honest answer is: it depends on the product. Here is what the pH and ingredients actually tell you.

Not All Stabilized Oxygen Products Are the Same

The phrase “stabilized oxygen” encompasses a wide range of products with very different underlying chemistry. Some are safe and work as described. Others range from ineffective to outright dangerous. Knowing the difference is the first step.

The market offers three main types of products labeled as stabilized oxygen or liquid oxygen supplements. Only one of them — new technology bio-available liquid oxygen — is safe for regular oral use without dilution. For a full breakdown of all three types, see our Complete Guide to Liquid Oxygen Drops.

What pH Tells You About Safety

pH measures how acidic or alkaline a solution is, on a scale from 0 to 14. Pure water sits at 7.0, right in the middle. Your blood stays within a very tight range — roughly 7.35 to 7.45 — because even small shifts outside that range disrupt how your body works at a chemical level.1

pH chart comparing the old technology to our new OxygenSuperCharger technology

OxygenSuperCharger™ has a pH of approximately 7.4. That is almost exactly the same as your blood.

Why does that matter? A product with a pH that is close to the body’s own pH will not irritate or burn the tissue it contacts — not your skin, not your mouth, not the lining of your digestive tract. You can take it directly under the tongue without any dilution step.

Old technology stabilized oxygen products are a different story. Many have a pH as high as 13.7. For comparison, oven cleaner runs around 13. At that level, direct contact with tissue causes burns. That is why those products instruct you to dilute them before use and to keep them off your skin.

pH is not just a technical specification. It is one of the clearest signals of whether a manufacturer had safety in mind when creating the product.

The Dilution Test: A Simple Red Flag

Reading the label is one of the easiest ways to assess a stabilized oxygen product. If the instructions say to dilute before use, it is worth asking why. For old technology stabilized oxygen products, that requirement exists because the undiluted product can cause burns.

OxygenSuperCharger™ requires no dilution. You can take it straight under the tongue at the full recommended dose, apply it to skin, or add it to water if you prefer. That last option is a preference, not a safety requirement. The difference matters.

What Is In It — and What Is Not

When asking, “Is stabilized oxygen safe?” the ingredients matter. The ingredient list for OxygenSuperCharger™ is short: purified water, sea salt (sodium chloride), and stabilized oxygen (O4). What the product does not contain is just as important.

No chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide is an industrial bleaching agent and disinfectant. It has no place inside the human body. Research on the NIH website has documented serious gastrointestinal damage from ingesting it, including intestinal perforation.2 Both the FDA and the Pan American Health Organization have warned against its internal use.2 Many old technology stabilized oxygen products use chlorine dioxide as part of their chemistry. OxygenSuperCharger™ does not.

No sodium chlorite. Sodium chlorite is the chemical precursor that generates chlorine dioxide. Medical literature documents severe harm from even small accidental ingestions, including destruction of red blood cells and acute kidney failure.3 OxygenSuperCharger™ contains no sodium chlorite.

No hydrogen peroxide. The FDA has specifically warned against ingesting high-strength hydrogen peroxide. Medical case reports on the NIH website describe fatal outcomes from accidental consumption.4 Hydrogen peroxide and bio-available liquid oxygen are not the same thing, despite both being oxygen-related products.

No chemical salts. Old technology products bind oxygen to chemical salts that must react with stomach acid to release the oxygen. That reaction is what drives the dangerously high pH in those products. OxygenSuperCharger™ uses no chemical salts. The oxygen is already present in the liquid and ready to absorb — no reaction needed.

About the Sodium Content

The original 35% strength OxygenSuperCharger™ uses a proprietary sea salt base in its manufacturing process. Sodium chloride increases the electrical conductivity needed for the electrolytic process that produces oxygen. Some people wonder about their sodium intake as a result.

The amount of sodium chloride that remains in the product after manufacturing is very small. Even at the highest recommended daily dose, the sodium in OxygenSuperCharger™ accounts for less than 1% of the recommended daily value. For virtually everyone, that is a negligible amount.

What the Two Formulas Taste Like — and Why

OxygenSuperCharger™ comes in two formulas, and they taste different from each other.

The Original Formula (35% strength) uses a proprietary blend of sea salt for its base minerals. The taste is mild — a faint hint of ocean water that most people barely notice.

The Ultra Strength Formula (OxygenSuperCharger2™) is 25% stronger than the original. It uses a proprietary blend of minerals — not sea salt — to achieve the higher oxygen concentration. Some people describe this formula as having a faint taste similar to chlorine or pool water. There is no chlorine in either formula of OxygenSuperCharger™. Most people struggle to precisely identify the taste of trace minerals, which explains the confusion. Human taste buds are very sensitive to unfamiliar mineral content. The reaction is normal and does not indicate anything harmful.

Neither formula requires dilution. You can take both formulas directly under the tongue.

Understanding the Detox Response

A small number of people experience mild, temporary symptoms when they first start using OxygenSuperCharger™ — such as a slight headache, tiredness, or loose stools. This can sound alarming at first. However, it helps to understand what is actually going on.

Oxygen is a detoxifier. It helps the body clear toxins that have accumulated in cells over time. When your body receives more oxygen than it normally processes, it can start releasing those stored toxins into the bloodstream faster than usual. The oxygen itself does not cause the temporary discomfort some people feel. It is the body processing what the oxygen is clearing out.

The straightforward way to avoid this is to start with a low dose. Begin with 5 drops three times a day. Increase gradually toward the recommended maximum of 30 drops three times a day. So, just to be cautious, start at a slow pace and let your body adjust comfortably.

Manufactured Under FDA Standards

is stabilized oxygen safe? Is it manufactured using good manufacturing practices?

An FDA-approved facility manufactures OxygenSuperCharger™ in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations. These rules require manufacturers to verify the identity, purity, strength, and composition of their products and to maintain documented quality controls throughout the entire production process.5

Every batch of OxygenSuperCharger™ is tested during manufacturing to confirm oxygen content. Because standard dissolved oxygen meters cannot measure high concentrations of O4, the manufacturer uses multiple methods: colorimetric strip testing, the Winkler titration method, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) meters, and mass spectrometry with oxygen allotrope software.

Shelf Life and Storage

OxygenSuperCharger™ has a recommended shelf life of three years. Store it at room temperature, cap tight, out of direct sunlight. No refrigeration needed. When stored correctly, the oxygen concentration stays stable for the full shelf life.

One practical note on mixing: if you add OxygenSuperCharger™ to a beverage, drink it right away. The oxygen will start purifying whatever liquid it is in — that is actually a useful property of the product — but it also means the oxygen gets used up in the process. To get the most oxygen into your body, place it under your tongue or mix it with water and drink immediately.

The Bottom Line: Is Stabilized Oxygen Safe?

The question “Is stabilized oxygen safe?” does not have a single answer that applies to every product in the category. Safety depends on the chemistry, the pH, what the product contains, and how it is made.

For OxygenSuperCharger™, the answer comes down to a clear set of facts: a pH of 7.4 that matches the body’s own blood chemistry, an ingredient list free of caustic or toxic substances, no need for dilution, and production under FDA-regulated cGMP standards. That is not a health claim. It is simply what the product is made of — and what it is not.
