Neutral pH Balance: the Importance for Stabilized Oxygen

Not all stabilized oxygen products are neutral pH balanced.

So what exactly is pH?

pH” is a term in chemistry that means the potential for hydrogen.  The “p” in pH stands for “potential”and the “H” in pH stands for hydrogen.

A scientific explanation would state that pH refers to an organisms ability to attract hydrogen ions.  In other words, it simply means the amount of hydrogen ions (H+) or hydroxyl ions (OH-) ions that are in a particular substance. That’s all it means.

pH is measured in a scale from 0 to 14, with anything below 7 being acidic and anything above 7 being basic or alkaline.    Acids are in the lower range of the scale and are caused by an excess of the H+ ion, and bases are in the upper range of the scale and are caused by an excess of the OH- ion.

The pH scale is not linear, it is logarithmic, measured in multiples of ten.  From a change of a pH 7 to a pH 6, there are ten times more H+ ions in the water.  From a change of pH 7 to pH 5, there are one hundred times more ions in the water, and so on.

Being a logarithmic scale means that a change by a factor of ten in the H+ activity brings about a change of one unit on the pH scale. The range of the pH scale is from 0 to 14.   A neutral solution is defined as the one in which the activity of H+ and OH- is identical.  So you see, this is why we say OxygenSuperCharger is “practically” neutral pH as its level is 7.4.

pH llevel also depends on the temperature

It is commonly assumed that a neutral solution has a pH of 7.00. In most cases that’s a very good approximation, but it is true only for 25°C. If the temperature increase above 25°C the pH of a neutral solution will decrease below 7. And if temperature decrease below 25°C, the pH value will increase above 7.   As you will see in the section “The pH versus temperature relation“, temperature is an important parameter to consider in pH measurements.

As temperature is again a factor in pH this is another reason why raw and uncooked foods will be better for your body’s pH level then hot and cold foods.
